20090927 trip plan

Hi Guys,

Given the high "aeroplane rate" of last time's hike, I decide to give this is 2nd try... this time I give 2 routes and see what we could come up to:

From Lets hike!!

1. 水浪窩 -- 麥理浩徑 4 段 --> 馬鞍山 --> 吊手岩 --> 馬鞍山火車站

- This is a relatively difficult track -- should take around 5 - 6 hours I guess. So most probably we'll have a early lunch (or snack), and bring some food up and eat while we hike.
- The way up MacLehose Track section 4 (esp posts 75 - 78) is quite demanding. There are steps which go up and up and up for some 1.5km without break... So, be prepared, do last least some exercise on your legs before coming :)
- I never tried the whole trip but seemingly the views are quite good (http://community.webshots.com/album/552513408vAMolC). And after we made it, there's a rewarding tea break at Ma On Shan Center before we dismiss ~~

From Lets hike!!

2. 伯公拗 --> 飛鵝山 --> 象山 --> 東山 --> 獅子亭 --> 黃大仙

- This one is relatively short and easy -- I guess 4 - 5 hours (one afternoon)'s walk will be ok.
- Kowloon Peak's east side is very easy according to websites... the south and west tracks are a completely different story (extremely dangerous). Anyway we'll choose the two easiest tracks and see how it goes. The views are quite stunning, should be able to see the whole HK North + Kowloon on a clear day.
- The North track is grassy according to websites, so WEAR LONG TROUSERS!!!!! Well I know its hot but it does help a lot prevent unnecessary injuries...
- Again, after a long day's hike, a rewarding tea at Wong Tai Sin waiting for us :)
